Podcast Raiders Position Group Breakdown: TE

The Las Vegas Raiders have very few bright spots in 2024, but the biggest was the selection of generational talent Brock Bowers, the National Football League’s best tight end, even as a rookie.
Because of 2024's failure, Mark Davis and new minority owner Tom Brady cleaned the house, and in came future Hall of Fame coach Pete Carroll and burgeoning young superstar GM John Spytek.
The new Raider Nation brain trust quickly turned to offensive savant Chip Kelly to run the offense, who has a track record of major success utilizing the tight end position.
Our latest episode of the Las Vegas Raiders Insider Podcast features an in-depth scouting report, a breakdown of every tight end, and a detailed analysis of the Silver and Black's roster.

Ashton Jeanty spoke after his selection, and we have a partial transcript of what he said below.
RB Ashton Jeanty
Q: Notably, you decided to stay at Boise State when there were a lot of people coming at you, and you talked about how much you were developed there in that program. What's the biggest thing you can say that you took from being a Boise State Bronco that you believe could help you as a Raider?
Jeanty: "Just the hard work, discipline, doing the things that nobody else wants to do. And that's what we did each and every single day there. And it's paid off, and it's helped me grow into the young man that I am today."
Q: Kind of playing off that, you had a season two years ago, and you became kind of a national phenomenon. I know opponents were tailoring their whole game plan towards slowing you down. You still had an even better year. What went into that to be able to have that production when you really became a focus, and what lessons from that can you carry into the NFL?
Jeanty: "Yeah, just taking my preparation to the next level. Preparing for what defensive attacks we're going to get, how we're going to attack them as an offense. And I think most importantly, taking care of my body right. Just being available to take 30 carries each and every week and understanding that it's me versus 11. Once the ball snaps, there's 11 guys coming after me. So, just having that mentality that nobody's going to take me down."
Q: You said before the draft that you thought that the guys sitting next to you would view you as a fit for the culture they're trying to build. How do you view yourself as a fit to what these guys are trying to build in Las Vegas?
Jeanty: "Yeah, I think the most important thing they said to me, I asked them, 'What's their values as a team?' And they said they're looking for the right people. They're looking for great people along with great players, and I think my personality fits that and the character will go a lot longer than anything that I do on the football field."
