NBA Rumors: Blazers Center Jusuf Nurkic to Knicks?

The New York Knicks are coming off their most successful season in over a decade, but there should still be some roster turnover this offseason. Among those who may not be with the team next season is Mitchell Robinson, who expressed displeasure over his role throughout the year.

"Tired asf [sic] of just being out there for cardio fam," Robinson wrote on social media in March. "I want to play basketball to really just wasting my time and energy." 

Granted, those comments came before he was the starting center for the Knicks' playoff run, where his opinion may have changed. But in case it hasn't, the Knicks might be looking for Robinson's replacement. Blazer's Edge contributor Adrian Bernecich believes that Jusuf Nurkic could be an option for the Knicks.

"Mitchell Robinson doesn’t seem happy in New York. Like Nurkic, Robinson still has three years left on his contract. He may be of interest to a list of other teams, including the Blazers," Bernecich writes. "The Knicks appear keen to capitalize on this season’s Playoff berth. They might want to bring in another established center if Robinson forces his way out."

It's unclear whether Robinson would want out or not, but in the case that he does, Nurkic could be a viable solution. 

Nurkic, who turns 29 this August, averaged 13.3 points and 9.1 rebounds in 51 games this season for the Portland Trail Blazers. While he isn't as prolific as Robinson is on the defensive end, he adds more on offense and can add another layer to the Knicks' scoring abilities.
